Fall scenes in New England (+) red pepper crop rows (+) Baywood mud flats...

The following mini-portfolio of Fall foliage scenes shot on a recent visit to New England begins with CROSS-VIEWING stereo pairs. Selected anaglyph versions of the following stereo pairs are posted further down the page.

View CROSS/CONVERGENT stereo pairs in 3-D without glasses:

1) Click on images to enlarge
.

2) View stereo pairs straight on and from a distance of about 2-feet from your screen.

3) Cross or converge your eyes a bit until you see three virtual images. [NOTE: If you don't cross or converge your eyes enough, you will likely see only the original two images. If you cross or converge your eyes too much, you may see four images.]

4) With all three images in your line of sight, hold focus on all three while gazing upon the center of the three images. It will suddenly appear fully three-dimensional.

If at first you don't succeed, be patient and try again. The dimensional rewards are well worth the effort.

And now for ANAGLYPH versions of the above stereo pairs. [NOTE: Strong primary red colors in many of the original stereo pairs in this post are poor candidates for full-color red/cyan stereo anaglyph conversions. If not adjusted for hue, reds become a rather unimpressive grey or black when viewed in anaglyph. One solution to this conundrum requires digitally replacing all reds, cyans, and/or blues with purples, oranges, and/or other off-color substitutions. While this was done for the crop rows of bright red peppers (the hue on the red peppers was adjusted to purple), the most problematic anaglyph conversions in this bunch were simply left out rather than included with their garish color substitutes. True fall colors of the original stereo pair views are far superior to the lesser anaglyph conversions.]

For best results, view anaglyph images under greatly subdued lighting while gazing through red/cyan-tinted 3-D anaglyph glasses.
